The joint-stock company „KURSA” was established in 1992 on the basis of the fishermen co-operative society, which was founded in 1946.
Company is situated in Liepaja, Latvia. The port of Liepaja – the third largest port in Latvia enjoys the most south-western location of Latvian ports which makes sea transportation from there the most competetive. Owing to a favourable location the port is ice-free even during the severest winters and makes a convenient transportation between Latvia and other countries. The main branches of our business are operational: to catch, to process and to sale as well as provide all kinds of services for fishing vessels based in the port of Liepaja.
The company owns 3 fishing vessels (till 200 BRT). Recently „KURSA” has purchased 3 different companies, operating 4 ships to amplify our catch limit.
We are operating the territory with total area of 76 693 m2 , which has been leased from the administration of Liepaja special economic zone for a time period of 30 years with priority to renew the contract.
„KURSA” is the only company in the port of Liepaja, which owns a wharf. The length of the wharf is 100 m and depth 6 m and it is equipped with stationary lifting equipment.
At the moment 8 different companies which are „KURSA” divisions are operating in our territory. All these companies provide different kind of services related to fishing vessels calling at the port of Liepaja. Services regarding to veterinarian and customs documents to be drawn are also offered at the port.
„KURSA” also supplies with ice all fishing vessels coming to Liepaja port. Ice is produced with equipment of the Norvegian company „FINSAM” and satisfies all necessary needs regarding to quality and hygiene.
