In laboratory, distilled benzoic acid and phosphorus chloride can be obtained under anhydrous conditions. The large-scale preparation of benzoyl chloride can be achieved by using chlorinated sulfoxide and benzaldehyde.  The boiling point of benzoyl chloride is -1 and 198, respectively, and the density is 1.212. It belongs to a kind of acyl chloride. Benzoyl chloride is an important intermediate for the preparation of dyes, spices, organic peroxides, pharmaceuticals and resins. Benzoyl chloride is also used in photography and in the production of artificial tannins, as well as in chemical warfare as a stimulant gas.</span>

As for pesticides, it is a new inductive pesticide, which is the intermediate of isooxathion (Karphos). Benzoyl chloride is an important reagent for benzoylation and benzylation. Most of the benzoyl chlorides are used to produce benzoyl peroxide, followed by benzyl benzoate, benzyl benzoate, benzyl cellulose and benzamide. Benzoyl peroxide is used as polymerization initiator for plastic monomer, catalyst for polyester, epoxy, acrylic resin, and self-coagulation of glass fiber materials. Agent, crosslinking agent of silicon fluorine rubber, oil refining, flour bleaching, fiber decolorization and so on.</span>
